My friend, Nina Ganesh and I walked down the aisle at commencement together at Western Michigan University. We had become great friends the past 2 years in college. Mom, Charlene, Steve, Grandma Thomas, Grandpa Thomas, Grandma Gonyo, and Kara Filius came to the ceremony. It was so wonderful to have them celebrate my graduation with me. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Food Marketing, with a General Business minor.
My goal when I walked down the aisle to get my diploma was to have a full-time job lined up, which I did get in Chicago at Information Resources. I was going to start my new job in less than a week after graduating from college.
After the ceremony, we went for dinner at Cracker Barrel in Kalamazoo. I got money, a new bible, and a beautiful cake. Then, we went back to my apartment at Dover Hills Apartments and finished cleaning up and packing up the car. Nina's family was visiting, too, so we got to meet them.
