January 19, 1993: Skiing in Cannonsberg

The St. Francis youth group took a trip to Cannonsberg to go skiing.   Andrea Erwin and I went on the trip.   I took a ski lesson.   I could barely walk in the skis. It was funny as everyone else was way ahead of me and I was just trying to walk.   After our lesson, we practiced going down the bunny hill. Of course, I fell on my skis.  The instructor was a royal pain as he said that I didn't listen to his instruction on how to get off the ground on skis.    Ever since then, I haven't liked any part of skiing.    Carly didn't enjoy skiing that much either.   Bridgette and I turned in our skis and I got hot chocolate.    I enjoyed hanging out at the lodge way more than skiing.

January 15, 1993: DECA Regionals

I was a member of DECA, which was a marketing group at high school.    Today was the regional competition.   I was in Food Marketing - Supervisory Level.   We took 2 tests and did a role play.   This competition was at Muskegon Community College.  Jake Messinger, Mike McCullom, Amanda Hladki, Ann Tyler were some of the people in the competition.

At 2 p.m., it was the closing of the competition.   I won a gold medallion for being the Top 3 in occupational area and a medal for the state finalist.      Jake won 3 awards.   I could hear Julie Christiensen yelling "Yeah, Amy Gonyo" in the audience.
